The Green Room Cafe’ – “The Goodness Within”

thegreenroomcafecocoabeach

The Niice Stuff team was out and about this weekend and visiting Cocoa Beach, Florida.  While the weather was gray, a bit dreary and damp, our spirits were warm and sunny which further intensified when we entered The Green Room Cafe’ for a bite to eat.  I have to say it must have been kismet because we had planned on eating on the next block, but due to a parking issue we were forced to park on a side street. The parking spot had numbers on it, so we stepped into The Green Room Cafe’ just to ask if we were allowed to park there, and whammo – we were struck immediately by the quaint atmosphere, beautiful food presentations, and friendly smiling faces! We knew right away this was our kind of place so we had a seat next to a huge mural of surfing legend “The Duke.” We viewed the menu, which offers an array of delectable healthy food combos, some vegan, and some fish and chicken. We were in the mood for a nibble instead of a meal, so they were very happy to allow us to custom order a combo of their freshly made hummus with salsa and blue corn chips, which we washed down with some organic coffee and fresh cream. When we were done nibbling we couldn’t refuse a piece of gluten free chocolate cake, which by the way was nothing short of spectacular!  Forks down now, and feeling very happy, we had to know more about these people!

We already told you the food was awesome, but the people were even better! Smiling, friendly, accommodating, caring…yes I said “caring”! They genuinely “care” about the food you eat. They care what you put in your body and how the art of eating affects your health and well-being, and everything is served with a friendly smile and a soothing voice. We introduced ourselves to the owner, Deborah A. Wright, and told her a bit about Niice Stuff and our mission, and we were delighted to find out that she also adopted two children and what a rewarding experience it has been for her and her family. We knew then what we had already suspected – she had caught the vibe.

The next time you are in the vicinity of Cocoa Beach, Florida treat yourself to a rewarding dining experience at The Green Room Cafe’.

Catch the Vibe!

November is National Adoption Awareness Month

We are all about families, and every kid deserves to have a family. That’s why a portion of every sale at Niice Stuff is donated to help kids find their forever families. Yearly more than 23,000 young people age out of foster care without permanent families. Our goal is to increase the focus and help them get adopted prior to aging out because the role of a forever family extends well-beyond graduation, college, and adulthood.

In October we hosted a fun-filled family photo shoot in Flagler Beach, Florida that was bursting with energy and highlighted our new Niice Stuff line that is to be unveiled soon.  All our models are local teens and families who were eager to “Catch the Vibe” and as you can see there was no shortage of smiles that day!

The Meaning Of The Holiday Season

The holiday season brings with it a myriad of sights, sounds, and experiences.  It can be a hectic time brimming with heaping helpings of stress; dashing from store to store shopping for that perfect gift for each name on your list; and all the while enduring long lines and horrific traffic jams. But the rewards we reap from that experience are great and make it all worthwhile. Holiday get-togethers and loving reunions with family, the laughter of wide-eyed children, and aromas of cinnamon and spice wafting through the air, accompanied by twinkling lights and beautiful decorations are all good for our souls. Holiday time is filled with wonder and magic that stirs up our inner child and it inspires us to reach out to everyone with love and compassion.

So while you’re making your holiday plans this year please remember those less fortunate.  There are folks in every community across America enduring grave illnesses, financial stress, and homelessness that have no one to turn to. Giving generously from your heart may make a difference in whether or not a child will eat or have a pair of shoes. It may ensure a senior citizen will have heat or much needed medications.

While you’re at the grocery store drop canned goods and nonperishables in the collection bins, give the bell ringers on the sidewalks your extra change and dollars, make a donation to the outreach program in your local place of worship, mail a check off to a reputable charity of your choice, or pick an angel off an Angel Tree when you see it and make a holiday wish come true for a child.

Another way to give is by donating time. Local charity organizations may be in need of people to deliver meals or gifts, help with toy assembly, cooks for a community meal, volunteers to visit those who are homebound and offer a few words of cheer and perhaps a small gift.

There are many ways to give back to the community this holiday season. Your holiday will be merrier knowing that you helped make someone else’s holiday special that otherwise would not have happened without your kindness, and this is the greatest gift we can receive.

May you all have a happy holiday filled with cheer, good health, and many memorable moments wrapped in the love of family and friends.

NIICE Stuff

A Fond Look Back At A Very Niice Fourth of July Event

NIICE Stuff was on the scene for the Flagler Beach Fabulous Fourth of July Celebration. The event was scheduled to run for two days, July 4-5, 2013, and was a huge success. The crowd was as if it had been plucked straight out of a Norman Rockwell painting.

Families lined A1A as far as the eye could see, waving American flags, and smiling as they waited in eager anticipation of the parade.

The NIICE Stuff tent was set up in the hub of the event at Veteran’s Park along with many other area vendors. We enjoyed two full days of meeting people from the immediate area as well as from neighboring counties, and we are happy to say that lots of NIICE Stuff T-shirts and accessories were purchased over the weekend which generated proceeds for our charity. Now that is really NIICE Stuff!!!

Niice Stuff Was Out In Full Color At The Flagler Beach First Friday Event

There is no doubt about it! The Flagler Beach First Friday event is good family fun!

It takes place the first Friday of every month and serves up a banquet of family-oriented entertainment! This past event featured music by local musicians, the Rain Gutter Regatta, and the Shade Out Melanoma Fashion Show presented by Flagler Surf. NIICE Stuff was there alongside other local vendors presenting their wares for guests to peruse as they strolled leisurely through the park. Celebrity John Byner, father of Rosine Byner McCauley, attended the event and stopped by the NIICE Stuff tent to say hello. You just never know who you are going to see at Flagler Beach First Fridays, so come on out and nurture some happiness with the NIICE Stuff family on future first Fridays for an evening of fun in the park.

In July there will be a special two-day event taking place on July 4 and 5 in observance of Independence Day. We hope to see you there!
